Beatport is Expensive

I've been really happy with Beatport lately. They've got good releases available, and the mp3 quality has been very nice.

So I was really excited this morning when I saw they had Minus 30 (False - River Camping) available. Then I saw the price-- $10 or $2 per track.

This doesn't make any sense to me. Isn't the cost of records very closely tied in to the cost to press the vinyl, print the labels, put it in a sleeve, and distribute it? I can buy the record for $7 when it's available, so why are mp3s so much more??

someone is getting greedy i guess. doesn´t have to be the distributor.

most the new releases on beatport are all 2 $ also!
dont know what the deal is, but i agree with you brian, its about the same price for the vinyl release. which i would much rather have anyways.

Meh. $2 US. No one says you have to use Beatport. But whatever. I still love my good ol' vinyl and CDRs.

They've only just gone up havnt they. I bought Troys 'Run' Minus release just the other week and it certainly wasnt $2 a track or I wouldnt have bought it! fck em the greedy bastards! I'll buy the new False on vinyl.

in fact they want you to buy the vinyl

and with their 2 weeks digital before vinyl they want you to buy both

but nobody's forcing anybody to buy anything
