What are your favorite djs?

Post by stevësto »

I don't know how else to post this so I'll just do it. Lately I've had a hard time finding any good livesets. It seems like everything is so hypnotic they forget the whole point is to DANCE. monoblock, rpr, daniel bell, these are all livesets ive seen get lots of praise on forums, but when I listen to them, they are boring (hypnotic) and dont have the energy i want. my favorite livesets come from these djs (in no particular order):

wighnomy brothers
ricardo villalobos
luciano
richie hawtin
sven vath
danny tenaglia (he plays a lot of minimal believe it or not, but livesets are VERY rare)
loco dice (all of his sets were crap except for one ... room 106 - 25.05.2005)

so yea its all the big obvious names, so dont make fun of me. judging from that list, is there someone out there im missing? who out there is really good that no one knows about? warm regards,

Decided to cut it down to 'favorites' and not just 'ones I like'
- Richie, Ricardo, Dandy Jack, Seph, Sleeparchive, Tony Rohr, Jamie Kidd

Tom Dazing. Really. If you're looking for some relentless dancefloor stuff without the artyfarty bleeps :p

Raresh: love the way he uses lots of oldskool tekhouse stuff and makes it all sound fresh.

Manon: probably hard to find livesets of her, but damn, the energy is amazing and I usually recognize only 2-3 tracks in a set. She ownz :)

[DJ's] For out & out track selection & mixing I'm really diggin' Ryan Elliot's sets (online).
