[BerettaGrey] Hess & Kage present 'Reference' (TadeoRMX)
Available Tuesday, May 13th, 2008
World release on Beatport.com and only Ultra-Limited 12” vinyl will be released for Movement: Detroit's Electronic Music Festival visitors and to a number of European record shops!
Beretta Grey presents the debut record by Detroit duo, Reference. Reference consists of Detroit producers Brian Kage & Luke Hess, whom have both released on highly respected records on labels such as FXHE, Monoid, Kontra-Musik, and Lumina. They’ve come together to form new soul-dance experiments in a direction known only as the "Detroit-Zone." Using mathematical state-of-the-art sound design concepts, the EP combines the essence of the Detroit warehouse deep-dark-scientific-funk, with natural elements of live percussion sessions, analog machine melodies, field recording trials, long-distance alien hijacked communications, and studio vocal assemblies.
LISTEN - Reference - Magneto
“Magneto” begins the laboratory dance session with its mesmerizing analog bass-line, nature meets dance floor-science percussion, stereophonic background atmospheres and eerie ghosted church bell breakdowns; this track fuses the best of the Detroit underground dance culture with seamless sound theory.
LISTEN - Reference - Exo
“Exo” wanders in another dimension which is composed of stripped down percussion, subtle high frequency melodic stimulation, and huge ethnic horn swells; the song has severe dance-floor potential, the science is there so you can keep it in your crate for those late night, early morning DJ sessions!
LISTEN - Exo -Tadeo Remix
Lastly, the highly sought after Spanish producer Tadeo graces Beretta Grey with an exceptional solid Exo Remix! Talk about dance-floor acid-soul-zone madness!!
Catch Reference at the Movement Festival @ The Beatport Stage, Saturday at 4:30PM!
