i need help purchasing a interface

i was wondering what my best bet on an interface would be. i have ableton and a couple synths and i want to record and/or transfer my synth sounds onto my laptop? what would be the best interface(s) to get? i was looking to spend around 200.

please help...

How many ins/outs do you want/need?
Firewire/USB?
MAC/PC?
External/Internal (card)?

If possible I would go firewire if I were you, and get a MOTU Ultralite.

EDIT: I'm not sure if you meant internal or external, but I assume external.
