and HELL yes I have that problem. I can hear a millisecond of a clip and know that I have that record and still can't spout off track titles / names.

i remember too much :) usually when i hear a track i can tell, artist, epname, label and oten also the catnr.. its sick hehe.. help me, im too much of a nerd.

but, these times when i just fucking cant remember the name i go nuts and really have to find it.. its a pain

Do you think it's because you have a really good memory, or because you have time to familiarise yourself with these things more than others?

I think I remember all the details about some tracks just because I am more familiar with them. I think this leads to a bit of a problem with DJs, because you play the tracks that come to your mind, but the ones that come to your mind are the ones you are more familiar with, so you keep playing the same small set of tracks even though you may have a lot more.

That is so true! I make sure I take time to just sit back and listen to records and not mix all the time... This way you tend to familiarise yourself with a broader scope of tunes.
