the progressive sound

Post by karl-heinz »

can anyone tell me why so many progressive productions at the moment sound so similar? i'm talking about those synth chords. you know which ones i mean. if not here are some links:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=jmO9ULgJvCY (Adam K & Soha - Long Distance)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=sy7LrSFKH1c (Adam K & Soha - Twilight)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=YnEUfeiSKt0 (Deadmau5 - Faxing Berlin)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=PKWTQ7r3ZAo (Fragma - Toca Me In Petto 2008 Remix)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=xI7U2f51VZ4 (Glenn Morrison - Contact)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZopX3mZPHTc (Gregor Tresher - A Thousand Nights)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=AV0F5r1Cofc (Thomas Schwartz - Jupiter Calling)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=MPrFAKMSx5I (Pryda - Frankfurt)

are they all using similar effects or synths? well whatever someone please explain because this is starting to turn into the sound of our time... just like the dx7 back in the 80s ^^

thats the most horrible music i have ever heard. listened to a few of them.

i dunno why they sound the same, each of the producers seems as out of ideas as the other.

chilling.
