Alan Abrahams
Heads might know him from his releases on Scape as Portable and a bit more dance floor based as Bodycode. More recently with a deeper House outing on Yore - A Document of An African Past and soon to be with releases on the always 'on it' and respected Perlon label!!!
Alans Live set are very intense with discreet, nice vocal workouts and FX tricks!!! With a possible Sonar showcase this summer, Alans own Sud Electronic imprint with releases from AM / PM , Akiko Kiyama, and remixes from Panorama Bar resident Cassy. Word to a deep brother .

Alan is just incredible. We've tried to get him to Toronto a few times (he did play here once for a peer of mine) and it has never worked out. Either we haven't had funding or the scheduling hasn't been right.
He is such a fresh artist with such rich drum programming. The way a lot of purists talk about Detroit is how good the Portable/Bodycode project is. In fact, I'd say Bodycode is the best thing to happen to floor techno since Anthony Child and Robert Henke.

His Powers Of Ten LP was great! Nice to see some proper vocal talents coming into the techno (and he makes it sound like he stepped out of an 80s new wave band!)
Does anyone know how his live vocal debut went? He mentioned it when I interviewed him for i-DJ - I can imagine him pulling it off!!
