[UK]run v Sushitech: 08.03.2008 w Koljah, Y Amoyal +++

Post by run »

run presents Sushitech: 08.03.2008

We’re very happy to announce that Yossi Amoyal and the mighty Koljah will be heading over from Berlin to give us some Sushitech action. Expect deep, driving techno with minimal sensibilities. Whether it be House, Techno, Dub or Electronica, Sushitech have always been supporting good music and trying to evolve. Ayone who has been following this label recently will know that they have been putting out some superb material and reintroducing the techno world to the joys of some classic techno artists such as Russ Gabriel and Steve O’Sullivan from Ferox and Mosaic respectively. Following on from successful sets at T-bar, Watergate / Panorama Bar to name but a few clubs, you can expect a mixture of deep driving techno, quality minimal and some classic house and techno from Yossi and Koljah as they battle it out back to back.

Spread out over 2 rooms we have a celebration of techno in all it’s various guises with minimal techno from Russell Skellon and deep techno and jacking grooves courtesy of Chris Box – the run residents. We have the chunkier side of minimal techno from After Dinner head honcho Andi Sparks and a great Detroit inspired set from 2 regular live players at run: J-lab and Alex Fisher! This will be their first official outing but having heard a preview of their set it’s clear that these two bring out the best in each other when it comes to performing together! Taking the tempo up a notch we have the man from Tilted Disco and CloserSteve Strawberry. Steve has been responsible for some of the capitals best techno parties recently and his energetic style and passion is sure to bring some magic to the room. Next up are two of the Ugly Funk djs Sikaflex and Sigma with an original and uncompromising mix of no-skool tekno and electro. Finally we have Uberdog of Toxic Dancehall and Werk notoriety whose different sets mix up acid house, dub step, techno, electronica, minimal and a whole load more…

Its gonna have been just over two years already! That party didn't want to finish - looks like its gonna be more of the same.

Those techno peops just don't know when they've had enough. Woohoo!

And we now have a new name for the Alex Fisher and J-lab live project:

SST

Having seen these 2 play together at a private NYE party after only a couple days jamming together I can tell you that this should be a really exciting project. They definitely vibe off each other and bring out the best in each other in terms of sound and style... :D

Saw Koljah in Bristol last year - he was on top form, and a lovely bloke to boot. The Lord Napier rocks!
