Can you help me out with Dubstep..

Post by Celltek »

Before this topic gets deleted for irrelevancy I would like to ask you for names of nice dubstep compilations. You see I just ordered Burial "untrue". It was rated 5/5 stars @ RA and I figured this will be the "DE9 Transitions" of dubstep. Hot sh!t!! Well, I just listed to it and almost puked.. its so cheesy, the vocals in each track and the melodramatic thing are absolutely not my thing.

I would like to get some names of some nice, freaky, funky, bassey dubstep compilations... The Frankie rec sound of Dubstep if you may, with weird noises and all.

Any ideas?

i wouldn't refer to burial as your common dubstep example. try out the Box Of DubII compilation form Soul Jazz Records, that should get you started with today's dubstep. also hunt down any stuff by Skream, Benga, Loefah, Tes La Rok, Digital Mystikz, Kode 9...all of them are big references.

In my opinion Burial is the most creative artist on the dubstep scene. It's something about those tracks.
Drop the idea of becoming someone else, because you are already a masterpiece.
