Anyone have any good solutions to decks that skip at the club or party?

Special tactics, foam, card board ~ What have you done to solve this nasty problem.

i hate those air cushions, very unpractical
there's these plastic cup-like things which you put underneath the technics
works like a charm and avoids feedback on tables

i heard sandbags are good too, but good luck finding those

I really hate turntables because of this issue.

You need a really sturdy table on a really sturdy floor. The most effective method around this is a fuckload of weight, like cinderblocks/manufactured stones to build walls with. You can get by with a really sturdy table as long as nobody bumps itno it and the floor does not flex with people dancing.

Almost none of this has anything to do with bass feeding back. To work against that, wrap thick rubber bands around ashtrays or rolls of duct tape and set the turntable feet in the middle of each. If you want to get crazier, set the turntable on a massive slab of stone or steel and then on top of squash balls. When I say massive, I mean quite uncomfortable to transport by hand.

The weight in a technics turntable is not evenly distributed.

only that usually solves a lot of problems, god i hate ppl who wants to stash this and that behind the booth.

otherwise, if you build up your "booth" of these fuckers and put some sort of plate on the top it should work. never had problems with it before :)

the (fantastic) solution that the guys at KozzMozz here do is simply to put the orange air cushions under a board that spans all the booth. So you put both turntables, mixer etc all on it. The benefit is that it doesn't jiggle so much as when there's a djfloat (or what is that called again) under each turntable, and you still get the effect that the needles don't skip so easy (and it helps against the biggest crappy problem of all: the "feedback" from low frequency that makes you have to dj with the low EQ almost down all the time

But I play with Traktor Scratch and I bring my own needles, so as far as these problems go, no problem for me
