Calculating the length of a track

Post by Dopplereffekt »

There is a formula for calculating the length of a track in time with the variables *amount of bars* and *the bpm* of a track...

Does someone knows this formula?

Nope, i am searching for a formula such like:

BPM times amount of bars equals the duration of a track.

i think you just answered your own question, convert the bpm into seconds or ms. 1000 is 1 second at 120bpm, so really if you know how many bars and bpm you shouldnt have problem finding the length... thats off the top of my head tho, i am not positive

Id say..

BPM / 4 = Bars Per Minute (BaPM)

Sum of Bars / BaPM = Track Length*

Track Length* x BaPM = Sum of Bars

*Time must be converted into a a decimal figure i.e. 1min 20sec would be 1.33333 min, E.g. 20sec / 60sec = 0.3333333 or visa versa.....

That doesnt make allowance for intros / outros etc.....
