review

In the last few months Punk’ID records has been very active in signing new artists and music for their upcoming vinyl and digital releases. The” ASG/PI004” features 2 artists being new artist on the label Alison Marks from Dessous recordings and Soul Phonic. Alison Marks takes over the a side with “Galapagos”. A minimalistic tech house track that takes you on a drive with a heavy load of funky rhythms and sub-bass rumble!
The B-side hosts Soul Phonic with “Not so casual”, kicking-off with a punchy kick n shakers, driving bassline and very cool fresh n funky synths who drives the track several times to a climax.

feedback

‘Galapagos’ is very good and ‘Not So Casual’ too love that dark riff.

Michel De Hey (NL):
I played it in my sets and on my radio show as well. I like the first
track, sounds cool in the club.
Kid Dub (Mood music / UK):
Really lovin Galapagos – love this rollin minimal vibe…and as for your new track – not so casual - i love it…will find space for this in a D DUB set and definitely give it plenty of airplay on our newly acquired radio show every weds 8pm to 10pm GMT on www.housefm.net

I’m into the B1 - not so casual
Fabrice Lig - Soul Designer (F-com, Playhouse, Trapez / BE):
I have to say it’s well done, nice rhythm.
Alex Attias (Compost rec / SE):
‘Galapagos’ is funky deep and very dancefloor. I love the dubby side to it and the boomy bass. Very jumpy and groovy in a way. Will definitely play this so full support from me as usual. ‘Not so casual’ by Soul Phonic is in the same vein but slightly darker. I like the arrangement and I’m sure it will work well.
Cian Ó Ciobhain (10th Street / UK):
I dig Soul Phonic. I will be playing.
Nico De Ceglia (BBC radio 1 / UK):
I like it, both tracks are cool. I’ll try it at my Codex party on Thurs.
Steve Parry (Cream, Aztec, Juice fm / UK):
Yes I like Alison’s track - its nice and cool.
Rebekah Minus (Minus, Richie Hawtin / DE):
This is Rebekah from Minus. I am a DJ working for Richie Hawtin and Minus. I am in charge of pre-listening to the demo and promo CDs that come into the office. I just got the new Promo from Alison Marks and Soul Phonic and wanted to send a bit of feedback. The Alison Marks track rocks! -- nice deep, funky and bassy, a bit breaky and very cool.
Jim Ingham (BBC radio 1 / UK):
Got this in the box to play.
Pierre (Fuse, Lessizmore / BE):
Galapagos is a good warming up track.
Will surely play.
Paul Hamill (BBC RADIO N. Ireland / Kube / Bazooka / IRL):
A nice minimal groove. Alison is one to watch.
