I've been looking around for a perc vst too, so good question! :)

For now I've been using CM-505 and Synth1 mostly. Both are freebies, so you'll probably find a download link to both with Google.

I have this very, very strong feeling this question has already been asked at least twice, but:

Microtonic- synthesis and sequencing

Guru- the best percussion sequencer and slicer ever imo. You can write whole tracks on since it's sample-based.

drumazon 909 is cool, expensive, and just 909

the company also has an 808

waldorf attack is great too!

and i'm going to give the new ableton 7.0 drum machine a try tonight, just was announced!

Attack is the best perc synth, once you get the hang of the super sensitive modulation

Guru is the best for samples.
Microtonic probably the best for synthesized percussion.
