Our first release comes from Gran Canaria’s Daniel Vallejo. His edgy, tightly wound minimal grooves bristle with swaggering paranoia and steady, solid pulses - one for fans of labels like FoundSound, Esperanza, Dumb-Unit and other dark-edged technoid lurchers.The first remix comes from Argentina’s Tala. Pitched somewhere between Junior Boys and early Swayzak, he marries romantic chords and sharp beats with a perfect balance of sweetness and attitude. Look out for a full Tala EP, ‘Thinking / OK Shade‘, up next on Iconise.
More remix action follows from Brighton resident Danzai, who recently released ‘The Weather Control’ EP on aciendo.de to strong response. Here, he lays down a pushing, unfussy, dub-tinged rework for those who like to smooth over the glitches.
Finally, Daniel Vallejo returns with ‘Higo de Pera’, creating a fittingly spooked end to the release.
