Interesting effect

Post by The_Glass_Olive »

Can anyone suggest an alternative way to achieve the pitch shifting effect at 1.45 in this video? Don't think its part of the track cuz she drops it later but I have used reverb with flanger and pitchshifter vst to try and get this but is difficult. Am i just missing something here? Is a commonly used effect... would like to use it in production and live more... thanks.

What im talking about runs from 1.07 to about 2.10 shifting in pitch. I know there is a flanger but something else/?

ring modulation maybe + delay
pitvh shift + delay
the efx 1000 has something similar that is dead easy to use called pitch echo

either mate. Found this vst madshifta which is a lofi pitchshifter with feedback and delay, only thing is the performance isnt that good, glitches slightly. Something like this would be excellent!

they have heaps of effects racks for live if you DJ with that
if you're on the decks then you could use any sequencer and run a plug that way... doesn't hawtin et al use the lexicon PSP42 for that?
anyway you need to compensate for the latency of the soundcard/computer
i prefer a hardware unit for DJ'ing personally... i tried running ableton in sync with serato via the efx 1000 midi clock but it was all a disaster

That is a delay set at a very short rate, not a ring modulator or a time stretch sound.
