drum layer tutorials links + self made

Post by bitz »

maybe it would be nice to post some links for drumlayering tutorials. most of them are not real proffesional, just starter ideas, and not for minimal techno too. maybe it would also be nice to sum up ideas of users.

Exampel : layer a kick drum with a rim or click. than a filtertered snare drum + the sampeld reverb of a kick wich is cutted very short.
or :
In the Hip HOp scene people layer a lot of real sampeld handclaps and finger snips with snares.

or a lot of the pros layer extreme pitched samples with classic hardware drumsampels.

maybe we can workout little tutorials for mini drums in this forum.

not every trick must be for everybody but its nice to share some ideas

I agree
Even with a good knowledge of your hardware/software you still need to learn how to build up a certain soundand it's very hard to learn that al by yourself

i was just thinkig about it few hours ago :D telepatics? my way is very simple = record sounds from my jomox x base 09 to ableton, then few cuts here few effects there, record it again as a sample, put it into cells in battery then try to fit them into kick "on the fly" with korg padkontrol... sometimes sound great. hope u understand my poor english :)

why do people scoff when people ask for advice on how to produce 'minimal' on the production forum on a message board that is focused towards minimal music?

Cause it's a stupid question.
Minimal isn't a sound that you can explain how to make. There aren't any tricks or special vst plugins for it.
It's not even a genre.
