Found a netlabel!

Seriously, how about sending out demos?

Get Richie to play it in his set.. :D

The truth is unless your friend has a really fresh sounding groove to his production, I'm talking about the WOW factor, well at least this is my opinion, his chances for being recognized as a valued producer is minimal to scarce. There is alot of competition and labels have scheduled releases booked until late 2008!

Therefore the only way I see it is for him to maximize his exposure online, share his tracks with the online community, be ethical..so no spamming, develop a killer live-set and keep making good tracks!

My 2 cents!

loads of demos. be creative! be nice.
gather infos. there is no standard format for demos. some labels prefer audio cds, some mp3...
go to partys - make connections. play live/DJ sets a lot. same rules for bedroom-djs as for -producers!
maybe make yourself a name through netlabels.

but what am i talking? most people i know that release on vinyl just knew the right people, and these connections were made over several years. it's a small town i live in, but the scene is pretty active.

I really recommand to make sure to have at least 2-3 tracks before sending a demo to a label. More than often, I get demos of 1 track only (sometimes, a 1 minute loop  ) and there's not much to be done with that if you want to build a solid release.

Thanks pheek. I think it's good point.

If he send it as an MP3 to Labels Email adress, where they want you to sand, you think that they really gonna check it, or they get alot like this every day and even wouldn"t check?

It is more chanse to send it to a small label?

Just dont send mp3's in emails. I really suggest you visit my blog and read my post I did some months ago about how to send a demo effectively
