Starting to produce

Post by henrique »

Hey everyone,

producing it's something I wanted to do for a long time, but only now that I've finished high school, I'm planning to spend some time burning some neurons.

However, I'll be in holydays in August with no internet access, so I 'm planning to collect all the stuff that might be helpful (software tutorials specially, but also some production basics and stuff like vst's and plugins, or whatever). I will be using Ableton Live.

thanks in advance

Good tutorials and tips (pretty basic but good) if you're using ableton: http://www.ableton.com/community
The best site for vst plugins: http://www.kvraudio.com/ (my tip, download as much free vst's as you can and demo's of the one's you have to pay for and try them all out)

if you know anyone with hardware

go check it out. ask questions, learn what they know...

look for a cheap $ drum machine if you can find one.

figure it out ...

you don't need internet access, if you have hardware

all software has its roots in hardware. its best to learn about both...

there are some decent live tutorials and books.

most of all sit down when you are awake and focus on learning your gear.

good luck!

we will all expect some songs from you posted on the members tracks
