That's impossible. Reason wasn't built to make minimal.
You'll have to use Ableton Live.

it's definetly doable in reason, but reason really is poor for sound quality at least in my opinion, plus I fucking hate the interface.

as for hardware, I've used hardware for a very long time and it's awesome... however these days software beats hardware in the ammount of sonic tweakng you can do to a sound. NI Massive for example. I noticed that I can produce high enough sound quality with a hardware compressor using software on a lap top and the sounds them selves are much better then I've heard on any hardware.
