minimise.com - domain stolen!

Post by minimise »

hi.

our domain, minimise.com has been stolen!!!

if anyone can help, please pm.
All methods of retrieving the name are under investigation, please don't be shy in contacting us.

if you have links on any of your sites, please update them to:

http://minimise.de

a new site will be up at that address along with some news and a new DJ mix from Donnacha.

Thanks.

p.s., moderators, we really need help with this, if you could make this a sticky that would be great!

>>>doesn't your registrat warn you when your subscription is about to expire?

yes.

but what if someone else has control over the email address they are sending to?

Anyhow, in our case the method of theft wasn't really connected to the expiry date. It could have happened at any time during the life of the domain.

THATS SOOOO FUCKED UP....

if u need me to kill someone let me know.

You guys might have to prove that they went after the domain to make money, u might have to prove that your site generates revenue for you. And that you had contractual rights to the domain. Look up garnisment laws in your state on Online law.

did you owe this person money?

you might be able to buy the domain back.

otherwise this is sounding like a case of cyber theft which is illegal and punishable by law especially if this is a finacial, identity crime.

identify your wrongdoer and the crime might fall under The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1984.

im no expert lawyer but a business student and this is from chapter 6 of business law today.

good luck!! i really hope you get the domain back
