With tickets continuing to sell quicker than we can print them, it looks set to be a rather successful summer for the captivating boutique festival Electric Gardens. Set at the breathtaking Mount Ephraim Gardens (www.mountephraimgardens.co.uk) - a stunning 800 acre stately home & estate in Kent over the weekend of 4/5 August, Electric Gardens 2007 boasts a sublime selection of bands (around 50 in total) across the two days.

This year’s headliners are Supergrass (Saturday) and Happy Mondays (Sunday), with major support from the likes of The Rakes, Calvin Harris, The Young Knives, New Young Pony Club, Patrick Wolf, Jack Penate, Plan B, Lethal Bizzle, Mr Hudson & The Library, The Holloways and The Pipettes amongst many others. Having recently announced the Myspace Stage (featuring Kent’s finest local bands, plus the hottest new talents from further a field), it’s now time to bring you the all important Dance Tent line-up, hosted by Kent’s leading purveyor of underground goodness – ClubClass.

CLUB CLASS DANCE ARENA JUST ANNOUNCED!!

Mezza Breaks / Rebel Beat Allies

ClubClass takes its first venture into the festival world via Electric Gardens where the ClubClass arena will play to host to the biggest and best names in house, breakbeat, techno, minimal and electro with artists all hand picked by ClubClass resident and global star, Nic Fanciulli. Over the years ClubClass has welcomed the worlds greatest DJs and electronic acts from Trentemøller to Tenaglia, Leftfield to Cox and Digweed to Deep Dish and with Electric Gardens on the horizon ClubClass will be putting in every effort to making sure the festival is their greatest achievement to date. Launching at warehouse venue Atomics in Maidstone, back in 31st January 1997, ClubClass recently celebrated their 10th Anniversary with ground breaking parties at the Ministry of Sound in London and The Loft, Maidstone. With arguably the best resident DJs in the country (Nic Fanciulli, Paul Woolford & Paolo Mojo), ClubClass continues to establish itself as one of the leading nights in underground dance music.

Saturday 4th August -
Slam / Stanton Warriors / Nic Fanciulli

The dance revelry kicks off in the ClubClass Arena on Saturday 4th August with Glasgow’s seminal double act Slam combining a rare festival appearance with their debut set for ClubClass after all these years. Head honchos of the groundbreaking label Soma, the techno legends will headline this mouth-watering day of breaks, bleeps and all-round electronic excellence, alongside Fabric residents Stanton Warriors and ClubClass king, Nic Fanciulli – who comes back to Blighty for one day only following his mammoth One+One tour with James Zabiela! Backing up the Stanton’s on breaks duty will be the mighty Meat Katie and Finger Lickin’ Records’ A Skillz, with additional support from Maidstone Mafioso’s Mark Fanciulli (yes, Nic’s bro!) & Small Fry, Shake DJs and Mezza Breaks. The evening’s entertainment will come to a dramatic and hedonistic close on Saturday night, with a very special Hacienda Set from original resident Mike Pickering. The perfect climax some might say, what with the original Madchester massive – The Happy Mondays performing live the following night!!

Sunday 5th August -
Danny Howells / Funk D’Void / Justin Robertson

One sleep later… ClubClass bring even more dancefloor ruckus to Mount Ephraim Gardens, and an equally satisfying day of musical enlightenment. Today’s headliners include one of ClubClass’ all-time favourite jocks and Global Underground pioneer - Danny Howells, plus fellow faves Funk D’Void and Justin Robertson… the acid-house general. Crosstown Rebels don Damian Lazarus will be flying the flag for minimal, just as SOS member and underground hero Desyn Masiello cranks up the bass. Representing the nu-breed will be Godskitchen’s Micky Slim and ClubClass resident Sam Ball – who’ll be going back-to-back with Together resident Anil Chawla. A Kent music festival wouldn’t be the same without any representation from the county’s (and indeed one of the world’s) leading record labels Toolroom – so step forward label cohorts Pete Griffiths & George Andrews to the one’s and two’s. Similarly, like yesterday’s line-up, more of Kent’s rising stars are also let loose behind the decks, with the Warning: 2 Dirty DJs (that’s quartet Craig Benitez, Rob Cockerton, Matt Cox & Switch) joining Rebel Beat Allies for some early hands-in-the-moments!! And trust us, with the DJs of this calibre rocking out the good stuff for two straight days… they’ll be plenty of those hands-in-the-air moments too!! Believe.

See http://www.electricgardensfestival.com for the full festival line-up!

With less than a month to go now until Kent’s boutique festival Electric Gardens returns to the breathtaking grounds of Mount Ephraim Gardens on 4/5 August, we can exclusively reveal that 70% of all tickets have now sold out!! Way ahead of last year’s sales and with something of a mini-heatwave promised over that weekend, it looks like this summer’s festival is set to be a spectacular sell-out success. There’s only a few Weekend Camping tickets left now too, so anyone wishing to sleep under the stars would be best advised to snap up the remaining allocation whilst stocks last.

Danny Howells is acceptable in the '80s!

On a dance tip, we can announce that globally renowned DJ dude Danny Howells will be swapping his usual mix of rawkus underground wrongness for a spot of eyeliner, some disco high hats and a pair of spandex pants, as he’ll be playing a festival exclusive – 80’s Set!! We caught up with the pioneering jock to ask him why…

“I don't get many chances to dig out my old 80’s music so I jumped at the chance!! Lee Burridge and myself have done a few '80s parties at Miami’s Winter Music conference and they've become a bit of an institution! I imagine it's the only WMC party where Chas 'n' Dave and Cliff Richard have been played.” When asked if he had a dancefloor destroyer in his box, Danny laughed… “probably Starship's 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now'”. Crikey, we wasn’t expecting that!! And how about the festival clobber… would he be wearing clothes to match his set?! “Oh yeah, I wear that muck even when I'm NOT playing an '80s set!”

Catch Danny on Sunday 5th August in the Club Class Dance Tent alongside fellow dance luminaries Funk D’Void, Justin Robertson and Damian Lazarus.

It’s for charity, mate…

Being the kind and caring souls that we are, this summer Electric Gardens will be raising money and awareness for two organisations close to hearts. First up is the Kent Air Ambulance Trust, who relieve sick and injured people in South East England and surrounding areas by providing a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) and air ambulance service for the benefit of the community. And second it’s our friends at Involved, the organisation that works with DJs, clubs, festival and labels to raise money for UNICEF and Children in Need. For more information on both charities and the full list of work they do, please visit: http://www.kentairambulance.co.uk and http://www.involvedevents.com.

With Wellington boot sales (probably) hitting record profits this summer, after a woeful and rain-swept few months… it’s nice to know that at least one festival this year WON’T be sinking knee-deep in mud!! Yes folks, Kent’s boutique festival Electric Gardens is all systems GO GO GO (we’ve got the photos to prove it!), and everything is set for the perfect weekend of live music, DJs and general festival frolicking at the beautiful Mount Ephraim Gardens next Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August in Kent.

Since we revealed the other week that 70% of all tickets have sold out, that number has significantly grown further still. But one big word of warning is that next Thursday 2nd August (at 5pm) is the FINAL DAY to buy your Weekend with Camping tickets. With the final few hundred camping tickets remaining, this really is your last chance to get your tent out of the shed before the summer is out!! Please note: Camping tickets will not be available to buy after this time or available to buy on the day. It’s do or die kids. Well, maybe not, but you get the picture…
