Growing up in a quiet suburb outside of Seattle, WA, Camea studied music and dance for most of her life. As a classically and jazz trained piano and clarinet player, she became intrigued by the innovations of electronic music when first exposed in the 90s, upon which her life's focus shifted. After maintaining several residencies in Seattle and a 3 month DJ stint in India, Camea relocated to New York City in 2002 to further focus her talents. Her dark, minimal techno and micro-house sound has steadily secured her bookings nationally and internationally in places like Europe, North America, South America and West Asia. She has recently started up her own imprint, Clink, with good friend Grant Aaron aka 'insideout', and is working with Tim Xavier on another new minimal label, Klickhaus.
As a producer, Camea is quickly gaining attention as an up and coming artist. In 2005 she had success with her remixes on Clink and Klickhaus, as well as a co-produced track on Tim Xavier's LTD-400, all of which have been charted by the world's top minimal artists. Nowadays she is spending most of her free time in the studio and has a line of releases due out in 2006.
Best known for her positive attitude, outgoing spirit behind the decks and floor moving tracks, Camea concentrates on bringing new sounds to the dance floor while keeping a dark and driving groove that electronic music lovers can identify with. At one point or another Camea has found herself playing alongside several of the world's leading techno, minimal and house artists and has secured a place as a rising talent amongst them.
