Turntables + Mixer

Post by Kleig »

Hi, I'm going to a summer job for a month and going to get about 1250 euros off it and my old shitty turntable got just broken (Some Sony that cost like 60e)

I'm going to spend it on 2 turntables and a mixer, so the question is, what turntables and mixer I should buy while still being in the budget.

It would be nice to save off a few hundred for other things, but if you have something really nice and get me convinced we'll see.. :)

I know that Technics SL-1210 MKII cost about 500 each, but are there any other turntables that could even slightly compete with them and have a lower price?

Oh! If you happen to know any cheapass DJ headphones that still do their job, let me know

Thanks!

You could also look around for used 1210s. They're built well so they tend to hold up over time. I've never actually bought a new 1200 before. You can usually find a used 1200 in the US for about $300-350. If you can find a deal like that you can really stay within budget and still get a nice mixer.

Mixer:

http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR150597 best mixer for that type of money.
Don`t bother with the cheap Gemini, Kam, Behringer etc

Turntables:

http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR114597 just as good as the TTX, without all the fancy stuff.

I think they will ship to Europe..

My advice about the turntables: Technics. There are maybe some other brands wich are very good or even better about functionality. But you'll find a technics setup in almost every club or at every party. And once you are used to one type of turntable it's sometimes hard to play on another one. As for the build quality, technics is amongst the very best.
