Around here we gots a name for Lee Curtiss types.. We call em Varmints.. That's right a low down scum sucking good for nothing Varmints. Eat everything in your garden then sh!t it out on your kitchen floor.. You know the type.. sneaky like a fox , slithery an wet .. don't give em no respect because they'll sell it to the toothless kid down the street for 5 bucks ..
So what's a man with a varmint as a friend supposed to do.. Well you could shoot em but that would make him a legend.. you could take em out to the woods and leave em there to wither and die, but he'd just end up at someone else's house fussing and causing ruckus.. or.. if you really dared you could sit down in front of the old com-pu-ter machine and get em to make some dirty good for nothing beats.. some techno, CRAZY MUSIC!!! TEE EEE CEE HAACH NNN OOO ., T-E-C-H-N-O.. and that's what we did.. it's not like it takes any brains or nothing!
So needless to say, this here varmit was a bit of a genius.. and before we traded him to Tom Dubs for 4 ferret pelts and a sack of dried goose dropping down at the state fair, he gone there managed to crank out a tune a plenty. Sweet Jesus! 3 actually, and here they are in all their god damm glory.. dirty, dank and rancid .. 3 filthy rotten songs filled to the brim with the finest sampling of swamp mix this side of the state line.. so yee haw.. grab your sister and get busy.. cause there's a broo ha ha on the go!
By the way.. We found this in his pocket, must have been a smart person that wrote it cause this boy could barely spell his name...!
A Western Michigan native and long-time Detroit resident, Lee Curtiss has been forging his uniquely backwoods, yet avant-garde and primal brand of deep and twisted dance music since the late 90s. A constantly changing and ever-eager student to his craft, Lee's finger has been pressed upon, if not thrust into, the throbbing aorta of underground dance music for quite some time – even if his production skills and brain-demolishing live PA have only recently begun to garner the attention of techno and house music's elite. Growing up between the two poles of Chicago and Detroit organized Lee's approach to production squarely between the grooving, deep house sounds of artists like Derrick Carter, and the mindfreaking work of techno producers such as Ricardo Villalobos, Zip (aka Dimbiman), Matthew Dear and Richie Hawtin.
Over the past year Lee has begun to tour extensively in America and Europe, notoriously adhering to a "fck trends, fck dance music, and fck me" approach to producing and performing that only the strongest of stomachs and most iron-clad of minds can withstand. His music's dark, sexy, and uncompromising singularity have earned him coveted performance slots at the 2007 DEMF and Mutek festivals, preludes to his upcoming summer move to Europe and a new commitment to touring and producing. Curtiss was recently named by Matthew Dear as one of they key figures of emerging talent in URB magazine's next 100, but Lee would rather you quit reading this bio and either book him, buy his record, or come see him melt you and your friends faces at a club near you.
