Review:
Eklo's second release is brought up by Miss Fitz also know as Maayan Nidam. This talented woman has been part of the Berlin scene for 3 years. After her famous releases on Archipel, Kalimari, Raum...Musik and Sushitech, this time she releases on Eklo with 2 new tracks and a remix from her not the less known friend Ryan Crosson.
Maayan music's characteristics are the warmth and punchyness. Something with an old school feeling that definitely based in House music.
'Pass The Line' begins with an atmospheric ambiance giving place to a fat, punchy and old school house beat and followed by
a hook made of vocal hints and a rolling bass…ready to jack.
With this EP, Fitz shows us a darker misfitting side of her mind, using hypnotic synths and sounds accidents…
A smasher house cut, funky and dark, that takes over your body and drops you in an hypnotic repetition of movements.
Crosson's remix to 'Pass The Line' is an amazing piece that will go straight to the books as it is a subtle mixture of grooves and weird synths from the strange mind of Crosson.
Funk based minimal with rolling bass manoeuvres reowrk the track in a funky dark dance floor bomb for peak time as well as afterhours.
In "On n Off", our favorite jam, Maayan finds the way to combine a funk house based with heavy basses, and shaking hats that keeps your body move. Finally, a stripped breakdown of dark bassy delays swirling around your head and into your brain like the rest of this sick Twelve-Essential.
