Sunset Diskos presents Bulgur Brothers - Smoothie Mixes EP - Sunset005
Sunset Diskos – Deep and funky minimal techno label from Mikael Stavöstrand is back with a new design and a new
amazing record. For this one Bulgur Brothers asked four of their favourite artists to remix tracks from the Smoothie Man
album (Sunset004). So we have four killer remixes all aiming for the floor in their different ways.
Sunset005 - Bulgur Brothers - Smoothie Mixes EP
Releasedate: 07.03.2007
Tracklist:
A1. Jane&Kate – Krikor Mix
A2. Jane&Kate - Franco Cinelli Remix
B1. Smoothie Man - Metrika – Este es mi mitz
B2. Raisin fever – Dapayks Mix
First out is our favourite Parisian, namely Krikor, who brings out the funk in Jane&Kate, so smooth and funky it is
impossible not to shake that ass. That high speed groovy craziness we learned to love frommonsieur Krikor.
On the inner side we go to Rosario, Argentina, to find one of our biggest fans in Franco Cinelli, this
upcoming producer who has stunned the minimal world lately with killer releases on Alphahouse and more.
You can tell that Franco is under heavy influence of Bulgur Brothers take on freaky minimalism with his version of
Jane&Kate, deep deep, need we say more, for the late hours, when the sun raises.
On the flip we go a bit north on the continent, to Mexico City where we find Metrika, this guy has amazed us
with his live sets and records for Crosstown rebels, so we where so pleased when he accepted to take on Smoothie Man.
Metrika breaks down the very shoe-gazing-like original, to it’s essence and delivers a pure club stomper.
Last but not least we have our berlin buddy Dapayk, who goes down slow and mechanical on his Raisin Fever mix.
Builds so slowly in that Dapayk way, until it delivers what we all aim for, pure ecstasy.
Available on Vinyl or as Digital Mp3 at Beatport, djdownload, kompakt, trackitdown, juno and trax2burn.
