Have I missed something?
Lately, I have seen a lot of hyping of artists like:
the Edbanger crew, Justice, Yuffie, Surkin, Dj Medhi etc
Mash-up, Daft Punk beats
So is this the new electroclash/trend?
New trend....

imo its really a thing which is coming... www.gohomeproductions.co.uk for example.. this guy had several netreleases, now made an album which entered some uk charts on rank 18. and the music definitely is fun! its more about the body, not so much about the mind, but it rocks
It's a byproduct of ableton. I knew this guy that did an entire mashup set of songs using the word "angel". It's the "anybody can be a rockstar" side effect of ableton. A lot of the minimal scene is responsible for this stuff. People can just sh!t into a computer and call it the next big hit. People will by anything, I'm reminded of that old "dead milkman song"', "you'll dance to anything". 75 percent of what's going on in the minimal scene is no better right now anyway. people making overhyped hit records with "zip" musical knowledge or experience. My advice is get off the drugs and take some piano lessons.

true, I just hope some of these guys will get bored quickly and sit down to actually learn some music theory. I am sooo bored with what I'm hearing from the scene right now. Ableton is a powerful tool, I've been using it since live 1, but there is so much more to music, and so many interesting things to learn about music. it makes me sad that guys like Rhythm and sound do a 6 hour ableton set, when they got all that great gear and musical knowledge to share. ableton itself can do more than just loop a common time beat for christ sakes. Music is what happens between the beats.
