Hola!

I just want to remind you that TOMORROW, Tuesday February 12 at 12PM EST (around 6PM Germany), you can catch my show called der Schall on FREE STREAM airing on www.protonradio.com

This time guest is Cio D’Or, I’m sure you already have listened her name in awesome productions signed in labels like Treibstoff , Kurbel or Karmarouge… or maybe she was in the lineup in the last party you were dancing like crazy somewhere in Germany…!

She offers us an excellent work for this new episode of der Schall… and I will be behind the decks with a personal set... so you better TUNE IN!

Cio as a DJ
Cio D’Or moves. Filtering to track down deep and authentic musical developments amongst the mass of records without forgetting the gems of the past. Her dj sets arise from an idea, which she develops and threads through her set. Emotional, extravagant and charismatic. Cio’s style is more techno than house, ranges from maximal to minimal. It has depth and is filled with bass, is often surprising and propelling, though still clear.
Music, in the form of dance and rhythmic instruments, moved Cio D’Or right from the start. Her first steps onto the stage were at 17, playing congos in a 7-person jazz band. Her staged dance choreographies were inspired by the likes of Brian Eno and David Byrne. Her life began to revolve around the exploration of music. The first 1210 record players spun permanently. Her love for sound intensified and since then a day hasn’t passed without music.
In 1999 Tobi Neumann heard Cio D’Or in a bar in Munich and booked her straight away for Flokati. Gigs at diverse parties and clubs followed. As support dj for Richard Bartz and his Kurbel tour, Cio D’Or joined the professional league, after which her residency in the legendary Munich club “Ultraschall“ began. In 2004 she started to run her own night “Nachtwind“ in Woandersclub and Harry Klein. Cio established herself on national and international floors with her emotive, almost magical sets. She doesn’t play music, she lives it.
Cio as a producer
Cio dedicated herself to her autodidactic studies of sound technology. She sampled everything, everywhere. Kitted out with an mpc2000 and a minidisk she journeyed regularly to the Sinai in her quest for sound. She produced website loops, expanded her studio and produced her first tracks. Her passionate search for extraordinary sounds progressed.
2004 saw the release of her debut album “Hokuspokus“ on the Cologne label Treibstoff. “Hokuspokus“ dashed rapidly into the Groove Charts. She released the track “Tolai and the Coconut“ for the complilation “Munich Motorcity“ on Kurbel in 2005. The 12 maxis “Lichtblick“ on Karmarouge and “Lauschgoldengel“ with Gabriel Ananda followed in 2006. Cio D’Or’s music has been licensed for compilations and her first remix was featured on Trisomie21’s “The Woman is a Mix“.
