how do you mix?

Post by fl0w »

Hi,

I've just Octex' description of his mix setup:
http://www.mnml.nl/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13643

So I was wondering: how do people here mix?

Feel free to give as many details as possible. Don't just describe the hardware, also give hints about your own (eg. "like to cut the bass in rhythm" of "favour long and smooth transition" or WHATEVER).

TBH I'm looking for new approaches for my own mixes ;) but anyone may benefit from this very open discussion.

Thank you !

two techs. one vestax. zero efx. it's just not as fun (for me at least) if you can't touch vinyl.

Since the end of summer I got two SL1200s and a Ecler Nuo2. Pushing sound trough a pair of concrete speakers :o

Right now I like to do mild half-cuts (yep?), bringing new elements into the track.. and not these long sneaking-up-on-you-transitions. Bla bla
