Is it really that different? I mean eyes on the screen and hands on knobs?
suppose it wasn't that different I just got more of an appreciation for it now

stavostrand wrote:hmmm.. is this discussion about people who are fun to watch or actually perform something live? unfortunatly my experience is that most artists which are "fun" to watch as performers actually dont do a sht, they just play a soundfile or two .. soo what you wanna see?
someone actually doing a live "liveset" or some guy jumping around for 2 hours?
me, I acyually don't care as long as it sound sick ..

cheers. mikael
Good point. The sound should be the priority, but the artist should also seek at least a little contact to the audience, because when the artist never even looks at the audience - which I see quite often happen with laptop sets, being live or dj - the audience can get the feeling that the artist doesn't really care about their reaction anyway so they might not react as strongly...

Well, and nobody ever goes to a Sven Vaeth set because of the good music...
