Hi all, I'm a Live music writer and recently I've been puzzling over the correct settings of Groove parameters so that my sequences swing. The only thing I can do is make a schaffel rhythm or just straight rhythm, unfortunately I haven't been able to achieve the golden middle - the rhythm that swings right.
I also tried LIME LITE and ejoyed its built-in swing knob very much, I've been getting that precious tight swinging rhythm, but I want to use Ableton's sequencer and just cant get anything out if it that would at least compare to what I've been able to do with LIMELITE.
As far as I understand the swing thing, It's done by assigning small delays to each 2nd(4th, 8th etc. ) piece of rhythmic sequence (by piece I mean hat/snare/bass shots) But doing that without any automation (like in LIMELITE) seems quite a headache to me.
So please share your knowledge, I want Ableton to swing properly.
Thanks

Drop the idea of becoming someone else, because you are already a masterpiece.
yea it really gives djs a headache this swing thing. Ive made alot of tracks with it too, theyre easy to mix with each other but if you mix in a track without any swing percussion youre pretty fuckedplaster wrote:i don't use shuffling in ableton. jpls knows to use it with good results which give dj's a headache. hahah
