Post by BobStock »

He guys,

I got a little problem.

I have a TR808 (roland) and I want it to synchronise with ableton.

For that I have m4u (midi interface) connected to my apple macbook pro.
My abelton (6) regonise the m4u but I can't get any midi send tru.
Anybody can help me with this? I really don't know sh!t about this part. (hardware vs software)

make sure that in your preferences you have midi out and syn turned on. to send the time code or even clock this has to be on. whn hit play in live a orange blink should happen upper right with midi clock for time code i'm not so sure. but goto pref. midi and make sure everything is turned on and the correct device is selected...the 808 though...it may have some other kind of midi device you need to get fo it to work with that...hopefully one of the 808 users on here can help with that...

you'll need a midi to sync box unless your 808 has the midi modification.
if not, buy this midi to sync (doepfer makes some) and then set the 808 in sync slave (on the back panel there's a switch near to sync port) and have a nice groove.
