cheap mic preamp?

Post by sorgenkind »

Hi Guys,

when I bought the soundcard I thought I wouldn't need any mic preamp so I went for the RME Multiface, now I need a mic preamp as I'm going to record lots of vocals in the next times... silly me.
Can someone of you give me some advices about relatively cheap mic preamps?
I know the old saying "you get what you pay for" but I don't need pristine quality.

thanks

A Joe Meek ThreeQ is good value for the money. Not too expensive and fills your basic needs when it comes to mic preamps.

if you want something cheaper, you can find something for around $50, for example:

(there are other products in the same price range)

obviously it's not the same quality, but well, it does the job!

nice one thanks Presonus looks good too, at my work we have some presonus stuff and the sound is good for the price... I think I'll go for this one http://www.thomann.de/de/presonus_bluetube.htm which is dual channel, I can use it to record synths too.
