External sound cards

hey there,

I dont know if this really belongs in this forums, but im looking for a new external sound card for my laptop. Im not really experienced with this cards so im asking it here, what is a good thingie for me to buy? I will play and produce music with it so a bit quality is needed :)

What do you want to do with it, how much money do you have?

I think you should have a look at the "ESI U46" - nice quality but still affordable.

the motu's a good choice - i got the motu traveller myself - they've both got everything you'll need
