frequency specific delay w/ xone mixer

Post by 532nm »

can anyone tell me how djs get delays on just some frequencies?

i hear it a lot from dj's on a xone mixer. it seems like you can grab some certain freq like a snare, or a synth stab, and delay it independently from the mix.
i've never used a xone, but maybe it's some combo of aux send delay, and the xone filter, or a different unit altogether.

i hear ritchie do it a lot.

simply connect a delay gear via send/aux to the mixer that includes a filter

I use a simple €80 Behringer virtualizer as a delay on my Xone 92. It works perfect.

I guess Richie is using a VST chainer to run a S/R signal trough his Powerbook for a delay with special effect.
