The quality of the format has an effect on the music itself.alias_9 wrote:It's unfortunate when it actually matters what format you spin music with. Instead of the quality of the music itself.
Back to vinyl?
john clees wrote:people will ALWAYS buy vinyl - myself included.....
sure others may view the medium of using computers : and that's ok..
can't tell you the feeling it was going to a house party the other day, playing all vinyl, and listening to people talking about how "real dj's" use vinyl... : and the idea of computers syncing tracks ect.. it was funny to me, but at the same time, I was very glad I invested the money on the vinyl (and shipping) that I did to have in my collection..
some people buy fancy things, some people buy fancy cloths, some people buy vinyl...
perhaps its just as simple as being one of life's simple pleasures that one may enjoy..
it's not for everyone to agree with or share the same view..
it sure is wonderful for those that appreciate..
the (art) of vinyl : in and of itself..
+1
Not to mention 70% of the vinyl I buy wont be played out anywhere but my studio. It's a collectable as much as it is a performance tool.
If people like their music on their HD that's fine by me. I don't think the thread was supposed to be a debate but rather a discussion on the issue of "Going back to vinyl" and the reasons for.

so there is no "we hate digital" attitude, or what every you want to imply here
1 I dont care what YOU buy or anyone , wave,mp3,cd,vinyl,cassete
I just find amusing these kind of things
how "real dj's" use vinyl...
Ok , but u know.... using that Login of thought , real producers use Hardware...
So if you are having music in vynil not made by real producers...
example all ITB
then you dont have real music... Can u understand this contradiction??
I think its all a matter of taste u can have as much fun with digital
and do much more complex things , having your own intros , pads
loops , fx blablabla
I only say some of the arguments are amusing because in fact they only
show there is no logic ,once more
buy whatever it makes you happy

Sorry to go off-topic, but where are they planning to put a new shop?Interesting news!PsyTox wrote:thought about this topic when I got a mail yesterday about the opening of a new vinyl shop in Belgium. So, I think there are still very (stubborn) believers out there who will keep the vinyl thing alive for many more years to come. Other stores have just downsized a bit but are still going on... so it's not quite done yet with vinyl me reckons.
