tell me more , i read this in 1 interview with jeff mills but couldnt find any videos;/
its all about the rhythm

dj'ing dub allows for the same long mixes that techno does, but old dub records aren't quantized like newer electronic music so you have to make a lot more adjustments to keep your tracks in time. lots of spinbacks/rewinds and other little tricks come into play too.

reggae and dub dj'ing tends to have cuts that are right at a drop too (fewer drawn-out intros unless you've got the echo-y snare roll kinda thing at the beginning of the track)

dub/reggae is all cut transitions, much like hiphop...


when you start djing the deeper stuff, you can get some nice blended mixes, but when you are djing more vocal, melodic stuff, its a lot of slamming on the drops.
