Also, maybe Tom Ellis? He's not so "crisp," but if you like Audio Werner it goes well in the same set. Derrick Carter has been sounding fairly crisp lately.

as trek660 has mentioned two guys on my netlabel check www.alt-recordings.com i guess my tracks fit into what you want too but i'm a bit more raw and rough round the edges.

Listen to some Herbert stuff from the late 90's and playhouse records.

Well, I guess Mr. Ellis is more crunchy than crispy, but he gets put back to back with Audio Werner a lot when I'm playing records. :D I can't stay away from the swing beats.
