yeah thats what i thought.

i associate chin stroking with extremely complex hard to perform technical music or in other words musical masturbation.

@psytox: There is a big "Jumper" scene in Belgium as well right?

I actually hate all that Electro crap , especially people I know which say to me , I don't have any idea about EDM but they all don't know Jeff Mills ,Richie Hawtin or Aphex Twin. Hate all these Wankstains.

Don't get me wrong , There are some really good electro tunes as well
But most stuff sounds too wonky and simply "overcompressed" for me.
And for me it's not really imaginative and full of mediocricy

P.S: This Video Tutorial Tutor guy should finally "shut the fck up" I don't like him.. funny how to make a six minute video about using cue on a cdj.

I'm trying not to scare everyone away, this elektro is bad enough
Luckily enough there's a few small but awesome events around too that stubbornly keep going against the stream. So, luckily besides the enormous crap scenes you also are seeing a "new underground" emerge. Brussels is still strong, but there's also something starting to happen in Antwerpen and Leuven. So, hopeful for the future... and after all, everything goes in cycles so this jump and elektro thing will also pass one day. I'm just praying it's today rather then tomorrow

It's been around since 2000-ish, hasn't it? So I'm hoping with you :P . It's really annoying the hell out of me as well, just take a look at the line-up of last years ILT and you'll see how popular fidget/elektro-house/... (whatever, it all sounds the same to me) is here. I think it kinda sounds like "foormuziek" if you know what I mean... lot's of forced build ups with ridiculous drops... uuuuuuuuugh. And the local scenes are being overflowed with 16 year old kids with a cracked serato copy and a hd full of 92kb/s fidget... (ok, ed&kim I can listen to, but they'll probably never be my favourite dj's :P )

I'm really thankful that Bruges has been and probably will stay chicago house-town for a while...

Thing with our scene though is that' it's so spread out. sure there's some clusters around antwerp, ghent and brussels, but that's basically it..... But then again, we're not exactly a big country either :P

oh, and psytox, have you been to café bota yet? heard some good things about it.

by electro do you mean this? (I think this is fidgit house)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDfkbdmPpD0

or this? (What I call electro house)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrItELs8Ddo

or this? (Nu-Rave electro)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igY5F8OhGFM

I like the middle 1 the majority of the genre is sh!t the other 2 there's probably 0.5% of the genre that isn't just noise...

that said nu-rave electro has spun off from italo & i like italo
