any software for not on the fly ? like a vst to make patterns like this step thing?
I dont know any step sequencer at the moment.

Not to mention a very convoluted and expensive way to accomplish what the mpc1000 can with a smaller footprint and more reliability.

maybe with a homemade monome clone? (arduino based?)

I don't think Richie has any trouble to buy a NI Machine. :D

But I like the way he always changes his setup to improve his sound and to try out new things.

actually it is very cool device...only thing is that the "sounds" take a bit long on loading, unlike the samples.

you can make a groove patern in short time, you can meke variations on the fly, also it is nice to be able to control everything wihtout touching the computer....and it full midi asingable.
