when i get creatively bored with music i try to focus my creativity on other things like...

gettn' real high and not trying to die...

may not be suitable for all people though.

try to remember all those things that really bother you when you are composing...like having to go to the market, or taking you car to the workshop, or doing laundry....do them all, and then when you have good ideas, nothing will bother you (well...there's allways something, but we are reducing the probability)

Go see a good movie... hang out with some people... just do something different for a bit and forget about music completely. with any luck, you'll find yourself reflecting on the experiences after and in a good place to write some music

all forms of artistic expression are based
on your life experiences. if you're
locking yourself away in your studio white
tower, then you're isolating yourself
from the very things which will inspire you...

strange "vicious" cycle.

surely, you must have other interests that
you can pursue which will then go
on to inform your future musical endeavors.

so go to the beach, throw a dinner party,
skateboard, etcetera + the muses will come
back when you least expect it.
