I do understand that Ableton is more ment to be the "creative" musicians tool, but sense version 1, the ammount of users has grown and I DO UNDERSTAND WHY! It's a great sequenser. So... Why don't get the real pro features like complete accurate mixing.
Agree with this 100%, I also love Ableton but the VU meters and mixer is an area that could be improved. Ive find myself using the gains on an eq to get more accurate levels when a channel fader is below -10db.

Also agree on the light colours on the Akai, it did look like they could prove quite confusing from the video.

4. APC40 sequencer extension

This Live extension turns the APC40's button matrix into a hardware interface for programming MIDI sequences in Live. A mode switch on the APC takes you in and out of sequencer mode, where you can set and clear notes in a MIDI clip just as you would with an 808 or analog step sequencer.

So, who actually bought this piece of toy and tried it?
I'm about to finally buy a controller (am using live 8), and from the videos I like this one, but what's the verdict?

Haven't tried it but it got a 10/10 in MusicTech mag

They said it was well designed, seemless integration, automatic mapping

Only bad point was that although you can program it with other DAW's there aren't maps for programs other than Live

Its a pretty glowing review.
