thats cool i think i ll go with the audio 8 for producing/dj-in as it comes with the scratch anyway...
i am on a low budget and it seems to be the right one then
NI Audio Kontrol 1 vs. NI Audio 8 DJ
I own the AK1 too, and i get the same problems. Its very annoying. And its gotten to the point where there is the crackling in the right speaker coming from ports 1/2 is so bad i cant even do any work. I usually have to switch it off for a while or route it through my internal soundcard.steevio wrote:i bought the audio kontrol 1 to use with my laptop and to be honest i'm not that impressed.
i bought it because there was alot of positive stuff on the ableton forum and it seemed the perfect choice as a simple sound card.
but it glitches ! very randomly, maybe every 20 minutes i get a random crackle.
i've set it all up properly, (buffers etc) but my laptop has an integral graphics card which isnt ideal.
also it prevents me from shutting down my laptop unless i pull out the USB ( a problem that NI are aware of, so why hasnt it been fixed ?)
it also tends to crackle really badly on boot up and down.
the sound quality is not a patch on my main PC soundcard - Emu 1820m, theres absolutely no comparison.
but i suppose it does the job, and its inexpensive, but as a main soundcard - noway.
Ports 3/4 always show as inactive in my DAW, so i can never use them. I bought this when they first came out, they may be better now but i doubt it.
