The next question:

Is the sps-1 uw that much better than the sps-1?
imo it is. sps-1 is great, but UW takes it to the next level. it goes far beyond simple sampling.

by the way, have you played with the MD or Jomox yourself? I can tell you that from reading alone you will have a hard time to decide which machine is good for you. But belive me, if you play with each one for 15 minutes, you will know exactly what you want. :D

Check this guy tweaking his MachineDrum:

Kind of impressing.

I agree though that perhaps it doesn't sound as traditional
as the Jomox. On the other hand, you can put samples in the
Machinedrum UW and then you'll have your standard drums too, hehe

Thank you everyone for the great advise. I think I'm swinging towards the Machinedrum at the moment as I will be able to get more versitility out of it. I have a mate that has the 2 of these drum machines so I think I'm going to intrude on his studio this weekend just to be sure. Please keep the advise coming though!

2nd!
I'm in the excact same situation as you right now - wanting to get both eventually but being able to buy just one now.

Think I'm leaning towards the Jomox though, for the reasons mentioned by Northernlight.
And doesn't the Jomox have something similar to the user wave functionality of the MD?

the md is in my opinion one of the greatest compositional tools ever created. it never ceases to amaze me.

Again, I totally agree. I've been buying stuff since the early nineties and I've had too much to mention. The MD is really something out of the leage. Today I have stuff like MS-20, MS-50, 303, 202, 808, MPC's, Evolver, NordModular G2 and so on but the Machinedrum is still in the centre.
