Miami always says that they are a mecca for electronic music. Well what I saw and what I heard sounds like, the people that still listen to that kind of music are stuck. at least here on this board we are challenging the music. That is what underground is all about. challenging what the status quo is. You may think that everyone is listening to what you listen too, but they are not. It only feels like it because you are emersed in it.
keep in mind that miami is only like that for one week of the year. for the rest it is all about mainstream vocal house and hiphop. Notice that virtually no artist discussed on here tours through there the rest of the year.
thats not true, i party in miami atleast once every 2 months, miami has a lot of big names come to space, nocturnal, mansion etc all the time all year long. its all electro electro tribal and electro. there is a minimal scene in miami, but its only in the smaller clubs, its also in the private parties and beach parties. even here in tampa, they play mainly minimal at hyde park cafe and the lobby every fri and sat night.

i never saw this kinda net label movements in, for exemple, hip hop scene...
or rock scene...hell, never!

very very healthy..in my opinion
maybe thats because technology-wise its easier to make minimal?

and then you go back home, you're really bored and you start a new topic about how usually sound systems suck and some people will find their way to blame minus for that too.
oneday, i was so bored and i was like,
"sh!t, i feel to like blame someone..."
then i found a m-nus record on my desk, and i was like,
"yeah, that's it!!"
and i've blamed them...that's how i found my way to blame m-nus.

Drop the idea of becoming someone else, because you are already a masterpiece.

(see harry klein club, only 250 people can stay there) and some hyped labels or artists are too "big" for this small locations.

isn't that exactly what the clip was?

I dont follow..

you say it only holds 250 .. but then the clip title is: john acquaviva on the bill at harry klein club for a birthday party.. . I'd bet to gamble... it would be that way on the name alone... how could you not expect that... ?

I think as with life it's falls on the law of balances and averages... sometimes over crowded can be fun with/on the right varibles.. sometimes not..

re: minus
perhaps people are (indirectly) saying they just want more slices to go to more people... [?]

there is no underground anymore. underground is an ideal that the people keep, it is something the people involved wish to keep sacred and not blow up, it will never stay underground if the people involved want to be stars, or when they get the chance play the part, which unfortunetly this is happening alot these days. i dont know if people will ever really know what underground is anymore in this society. i am happy to have grown up in the eighties :-)
