I dunno, they are similar yes, but not identical

I like Seph's track more.

no offense but both are honestly a bit boring... [are we allowed to say that]

these days, I just try to buy tunes with that classic / timeless vibe.

hehehh right

i too think, samplists contribute to the scene not less than real creators, its just that theres some unwritten rules on how to do it, which are pretty much common sense.

judging from some posts in this topic though, i understand ppl dont make a difference between plagiating and (shameless)sampling. its a little difference and yet, not quite.

plagiating - stealing the idea for something.
sampling - stealing the thing itself, the ready made product.

Ditto. I get tired after 1 month of most of the releases I listen to today...good releases are good forever.

and where's the challenge for the producer here? where is his own aproach to the style? ok.. maybe you like so much a preset from a synth or whatever and you choose to use it.. but not to sample other people! and also those presets can be modified, amended etc

If you both use the same preset i think the chances of both using the same sound in the same way is pretty slim.

I use presets as a basis most of the time. Some times i even take inspiration for tracks from the name of a preset.
