My favourite are ad-infinitum, the floppiness doesn't bother me. I try to use the shortest cable that is possible, but sometimes I like to swtich cables between several destinations and so I try to choose a length of cable that is right for the few places that it might need to go.

Anyways I like the 6" cables and use them quite a bit.

I think generally if you make an estimate as a noob about how much cables you will need, and then times that number by 5. You might be about right.

I have both Doepfer and Ad Infinitum. I prefer Ad Infinitum to Doepfer. But, there's really not that much of a difference to be honest.

I use a few radio shack 1/8 to 1/4 into my mixer.

I'm definitely going to grab a few stackables when I order again.

yeah you cant have enough stackcables, but they are expensive

i dont think many people have the Asys ones, so you will have to take my word for it, they are luxury !

and get yourself a reel of velcro cable tie stuff, i dont know what i'd do without it, i certainly couldnt do a live gig without it, you're guarenteed to fck up and get confused.
hardly anyone seems to know this trick, its absolutely essential to me.
