yes indeed, all those millions of kgs everyday in the fast-food business, are not without consequences i think karma-wise. those animals come to life as a organism, just as we do. im not a hypocrite, i eat meat, but in moderation. I saw a docu on national geographic, deep in siberia close to the mongolian border, the natives are thankful for their meat, and eat all of it. even boil it in blood.

using animals like nameless objects, squeezing them in a 1meter cage for their entire life, is medieval, we are in a transitional period i think as humanity. we will one day realize we need to eat to live, not live to eat. i eat bio meat.

the whales however i think have a far more critical position than the cows etc. so they deserve the attention. crazy that there's even discussion about this, endangered species aren't killed. the japs are reallllly stubborn (partly culture bound). the chinese for instance too, built environment-destroying fabrics everyday. it's weird really, I thought the asian cultures (especially japan) had a awareness of nature and stuff, but obviously not like this. even if the global warming has no causative relation with our gasses, we might not oversee what else can come from this russian roulette. global warming might seem very attractive compared to it.

(iceland and norway are just as bad. iceland should be cancelled as a country, haha)

theres a lot of research done on whales and dolphins that reminds us of the dumb apes that we are.

check this link.

While researches like this certainly prove the intelligence of other mammals, it is simply no match for humans. Think about how we are communicating right now. Think about how far mankind has come just in the last 100 years with communication technology alone.

A human vs a whale or dolphin with his/her bare hands is certainly no match. We have simply developed advanced technologies to do what we do.

I eat all food in moderation. Unfortunately, sometimes that food comes from a fast food restaurant because I am poor and it is convenient. there are millions of pounds of meat that go through other restaurants as well, not just fast food. There are a lot of hungry people on this planet, and we are carnivorous by the large majority. Sorry animals...nothing personal. Then again, most carnivorous animals aren't very apologetic in their food behaviors ;)

wtf? did you read the article? these animals are communicating using advanced biotechnology that is build into their minds already!!! using virtual reality imaging sent via sound waves??!!!!

Honestly, I don't think we;re that far beyond apes. It;s easy for us to kid ourselves, but that's mainly arrogance imo. Most technological advancements that we have made have come from accidental discovery, or were originallly supposed to be used in weaponry. Most stuff we invent we just use to spread pornography or enslave other beings anyways. Our capacity for understanding is much more limited than we think.

yes i read the article. i'm curious to know how this makes a dolphin brain more evolved and complex than the human brain. look around us...it is no secret that humans dominate this planet, for better and for worse

whther we dominate the planet is of no signficance. It's a meaningless fact really. We evolved hands and weapons and greed faster than any other species?

Whther the research makes a dolphin more complex or evolved, I dunno, but to me it seems absolutely magnificent. Most human communication isn't that far away from grunting, and most of our activity isn't that far away from how apes operate.

Sure, we've chanced across some very interesting technnology, and the ability to preserve and further knowledge, but our limitations are much much bigger than we think.

if the whales are so clever why can't they figure out ways to escape the hunters?

i'm against whale hunting but i don't believe that there more intelligent than us.
