^^^Don't worry, I was thinking the same as you but after having done both, in my opinion Detroit is really much more of an uber-party and the afterparties just put it over the top. I'm still in awe of some of the sh!t I heard over there and I probably listened to about 100 hours of electronic music in total last week. The sheer volume, variety and non-stopness of demf made it more of a mind-blower for me.
I still say that Mutek had the better line-up and more interesting programming and Montreal is amazingly chill compared to the D...and damn, that Picnik electronik on Saturday in Montreal was insane and I'm glad that I didn't miss it.
