Any rumours/announcements for people playing NYE in Melbourne yet? - may make the trip over if it's warranted

Haven't heard rumours about nye yet, we had magda/hawtin last year, which was pretty cool, Heiko Laux was better the previous year though. The biggest techno promoters who do the nye/nyd parties are only starting to bring out minimal acts.

When I hear rumours, I'll post em here.

There are some decent acts coming out soon

Robert Babicz i believe although that might be september maybe

and also Funckarma should be here around oct/nov

i was in australia for 6 month last year an i couldnt realy find a good minimal party there only once, this was hawtin @ family :-)

maybe there will be more when i come back ;-)

Isn't family in Brisbane?

I had the impression that QLD wasn't much good for minimal so if you were in that part of Australia for the whole 6 months that would explain it.

Still more happening there than in NZ though

There really is not alot of minimal in Sydney either ATM. There are a few guys and gals that do play it but there is not a dedicated minimal night in this city.

The simple fact of the matter is that the music just dosent have the support at the moment. Many parties are starting to lay claim to pushing the sound but i haven't heard a complete minimal set from anyone in......???

But summer is just around the corner and Sydney is a city of followers a good year behind the rest of the world. Hopefully those parties that appeared on the radar will come back and build a faithfull following as for us to improve the scene.

I guess time will tell....
